Hugo gets reassurance on future of Ottery St Mary Hospital from the Department of Health and Social Care

East Devon's local MP Sir Hugo Swire today questioned Department for Health and Social Care Ministers in Parliament on the future of Ottery St Mary Hospital.

They provided strong reassurance that the hospital has a sustainable future within East Devon’s local healthcare provision with Ministers committing to work closely with Royal Devon & Exeter Foundation Trust and others on the ground. Matt Hancock – in his first visit outside of London as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care – was impressed with the health and wellbeing hub at Budleigh Salterton and learnt about the beds kept in Sidmouth and Exmouth. Hugo will be meeting with the Minister for Care Caroline Dinenage at the earliest opportunity to ensure continued good progress towards securing the future of Ottery St Mary Hospital.
